Happy Monday! This Motivation Monday is dedicated to anyone who feels like they are falling behind, can’t keep up, or feels like they are struggling while everyone else is all sunshine and roses. I am here to tell you, the grass isn’t always greener — often it’s not.
It’s really easy to feel like you have to work twice as hard as others for the same results. It can also be easy to feel like your accomplishments are celebrated with a whisper while other’s are trumpeted with resounding excitement. I think everyone wants love, support, and achievement in their lives and I think it takes a lot of hard work to earn those things. So, if you don’t have those and are giving it your all, while others have it made in the shade with half of the effort, just know their grass isn’t necessarily greener. It could be fake.
It’s really easy to be the center of attention, can-do-no-wrong champ when you put 100% of your effort into maintaining that. At the end of they day, it’s exhausting and it isn’t real. The real grass…it’s imperfect, patchy, maybe it looks like it’s been tilled, but guess what? That’s your investment and that’s where you’ll see the most flowers grow. Flowers are better than boring patches of grass anyways.
It’s been awhile, but bare with me—I’ve been migrating our website at work which has given me about zero time to breathe. Hopefully I will go back to 9 hour days and two day weekends soon, but for now—here’s a little #MondayMotivation.
Everyone’s got situations, things, and circumstances that get them down—most of the time this revolves around people who are less than kind. Just when I thought that I was reaching the height of what I could handle when it came to people being downright mean, I came to a realization. Just because other people have zero consequences and accountability and sometimes have their bad behavior encouraged, doesn’t mean that’s a way to live. I believe in karma. I believe full hearts can’t lose and good things happen to good people.
Then, boom. Mr. JD and I had an amazing week. Raises, bonuses, great performance reviews, awesome things in our careers and the elimination of some hurtles. This made me realize digesting negativity with your head held high can turn into blessings and karma takes care of the rest. So, chin up buttercup, don’t let the haters get you down because the negativity they put out, you will receive back in positivity ten fold.
Also, Broncos are going to the Super Bowl and I plan on doing so much yoga this week! Life’s awesome sometimes, you guys.
